Mr Vivek Gangwar National Head of Vodafone’s FAST Forward cell from Mumbai was present to receive the citation and present Vodafone’s OE journey.

Mr M G Mehta president of INARCO LTD, the leaders in Manufacturing precision Rubber products, was awarded a citation for, “Their twelve years of dedication to Operational Excellence and for being the most durable client of Kaizen Institute – India.”

People waited with their breath held tight while the winners of the Case Study Competition were announced!

19 case studies were presented in all and each one of them  were of high quality and content, proving that operational excellence has deep roots across Indian Companies.

The judges comprising of Mr Arvind Shrouti, Mr M G Mehta, & Cdr A V Ghole, had  a big challenge as they had to evaluate 19 case studies – from Zensar, to Coke Cola, from those presented by Godrej to Kirloskar, from Raymond to Biocon and others.

The audience broke into a loud applause as the four winners were announced, which are:

1)      Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd – Shirwal

          Title of Case study: Energy saving with eco-friendly green Air conditioners

2)      Zensar Tehcnologies, Pune

          Title of Case study: Productivity improvement through Lean

3)      Lawkim Motors from Godrej & Boyce Mrg Co Ltd, Satara

          Title of Case study: Green initiatives at Lawkim

4)      Kirloskar Oil Engine, Pune

Title of Case study: Elimination of rejection on DV engine cylinder head for defects, crack at valve guide bore & valve seat height variation

Mr Euclides Coimbra  delivered the closing key note, where he spoke about Managing Change the Kaizen way. On 23rd, Mr Coimbra also conducted a full day session on ‘Managing Change”, and it was well attended. He spoke of the three pillars – Daily Kaizen, Project Kaizen and Support Kaizen and how it helps drive change.

On the 23rd, three buses took participants on the excellence inside factory tours, the tours took them to Volkswagen, General Motors, Bajaj Auto, Suzlon one earth & Lean and Green spaces office of Kaizen Institute. The tours are always much in demand and all most all had positive feedback to share, confirming that these visits were eye openers!

With 162 participants from 49 companies (three from overseas), three track and five best class companies to tour, Indizen once again delivered value to all those present.

The objective behind Kaizen Institutes  ‘IndiZen 2013’ as always has been  to get Operational Excellence practitioners together to share, celebrate, net work and learn. As India takes giant strides towards economic growth, becoming efficient in every economic sphere is critical for our future.
