1st day of IndiZen 2013

Wow! What a great start!! Today the 1st day of IndiZen 2013 (22nd and 23rd Jan @ Pune, India) started with a bang! 162 OE leaders from 49 companies descended at 9 am sharp at Westin Pune to join the 4th National Convention on OE!

We started with a great enlightening opening key note by Mr Jagdish Ramaswamy, President of Adiya Birla Corporate WCM cell. With 23 years of OE and Quality experience the bulk being at WIPRO and Motorola, his insights were eye opening – he spoke about how to move from mere ‘tools’ focus to engagement of people and building standards.

Next, Mr Mehta, President of Inarco, was awarded the Imai National Citation for his exemplary dedication spanning over 12 years to drive OE in his company! Great inspiration and learning for all of us! He deserves the citation!

1st day of IndiZen 2013

As always, we had huge demand for factory tours, a few of those who missed out on the tours (no space) were disappointed, however they soon found great value by joining the world class case studies competition happening as track 2. Track 3, had simulation games on Standard work and later on TDP (Team Development Program)

Track 1 – Three full buses were ready at 11.30 to take 55 participants to General Motors, Bajaj, Lean n Green office etc., it is clear that ‘ seeing is believing!

  1. It was great! The sessions by Euclides Coimbra San on Change Management was too good. All the 19 case studies were worth sharing. Nothing more to add on the Excellence inside tours! great going. We should have such conventions in all the 4 zones of India!

  2. Organizations are continually introducing new ways & methodologies to achieve OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE (OE) be it in any form Lean, WCM, KAZIEN, Six Sigma, TPM, etc. However the fact is that the “journey” of continuous improvement never ends. OE is striving for greatness, using whatever methodology best fits to the organizations needs. OE is developing, training and encouraging individuals to seek perfection within the organization.

No matter where you are on the “journey” towards operational excellence IndiZEN 2013 has helped the participants to further the skills necessary that will allow their organization to advance to the next level. By attending the Convention they have strengthened the understanding of cutting–edge knowledge and philosophies of operational excellence and the knowledge so gained will allow their organization to develop new and innovative ways to create value for their customers.
